In the latest update on Wednesday's shooting, the Kansas City Police Department said that 23 people had been shot as the celebration "was winding down at Union Station." Galvan, 43, died from her injuries.

“We are still learning about her, but know that she is beloved by many,” Kansas City Chief of Police Stacey Graves said. “To her family and friends, we are with you and we are working tirelessly to investigate her murder.”

According to police, two people, both juveniles, have been detained in connection with the fatal shooting. Thus far, the investigation has pointed to the shooting having began as what police described as “a dispute between several people.”

Of the 22 injured, the youngest victim is eight years old.

The Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have both spoken out about the shooting.

Earlier in the day, Mahomes wrote that he was "praying for Kansas City."
