Great art takes time, so the idea of having to possibly wait a little longer for a new Rihanna album should actually be a comforting thought.

Rihanna, speaking with Entertainment Tonight at her Savage X Fenty show at Barclays Center earlier this week, was asked about the possibility of performing at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show and notably cited sessions for her Anti followup as still ongoing.

"Actually, this is my first time hearing about the Super Bowl since last Super Bowl," she said. "Girl, I still got an album to finish. You're gonna ask about Super Bowl, really? My fans are gonna have my neck."

Earlier in the interview, she spoke directly to fans on the topic when asked about possibly collaborating with Lizzo.

"I love Lizzo, she's so badass," she said. As for the two maybe having already discussed a collab of some sort, Rihanna said they haven't but she’s up for it.

"Lizzo is so badass and she's everything that Savage stands for . . . Your attitude is what makes you Savage," she said. "It's te confidence that you have in yourself and it's the confidence that you can give off to people who look like you and feel like you and those are the people that identify with the brand.

Sensing a transition into new album talk, she told the Rihanna Navy that a wait was definite, but noted that the aforementioned Savage-aligned confidence will indeed be present in her new music.

"You're about to ask me about my album," she joked. "I just knew it! Well, obviously I'm a confident woman so whatever I do it's gon' be confident . . . Y'all gonna have to wait, Navy, I'm sorry."

As with most things, patience will surely be rewarded. In the meantime, revisit Anti.
