Action Bronson, blessed provider of profanity-laden food programming, is back with some new music for 2018.
Blige had a hit with the track in '94, decades after the Norman Whitfield–penned original appeared on the Car Wash soundtrack with vocals by Rose Royce.
Last August, Bronson finally dropped the third entry in his Blue Chips series. Blue Chips 7000, a collaborative release from Vice and Atlantic, featured the excellent "The Chairman's Intent" and received generally 👌 reviews upon its release. In an interview with Complex surrounding 7000's drop, Bronson spoke about the album's delay.
"Everyone blames the label," said Bronson, who vented about the delay during a live performance last May. "This one ain't about them. Labels suck, period. They are what they are. Unless they can help you, they suck. Unless you're a humongous artist and you're doing pop songs and hit songs, it really sucks. But for me, all I care about is putting out the project the way I made it. And it's always about sample clearance. That's the only thing with this shit, man. That's what slows everything down, is trying to track people down, or actually listening to these people bullshit about samples."
Bronson, a TV staple, also recently launched his late-night variety series The Untitled Action Bronson Show. It rules.
