Lil Uzi Vert Continues Relentless 'Eternal Atake' Teasing With New Song Clip

Cults are cool again in 2018 thanks to 'Eternal Atake,' the presumed next project from Lil Uzi Vert. Last month, Uzi shared some Heaven's Gate-inspired artwork for the possible project and was immediately called out by surviving cult members.

Good news for those of us who consider ourselves our own god and whatnot: Lil Uzi Vert has, once again, teased something new under theEternal Atake banner.

Sunday, Uzi hit Instagram to inform everyone he was breaking in a new pair of Off-Whites. The soundtrack to this breaking-in process, of course, is some new Uzi tagged #EternalAtake. The song, with its catchy "this way" refrain, can be sampled below:

Eternal Atake may or may not be the title to Uzi's Luv Is Rage 2 follow-up. Though the images have since been removed, Uzi last month teased the title by adapting some Heaven's Gate cult imagery to the almost immediate chagrin of surviving Heaven's Gate cult members. Apparently, the surviving members are not down with Uzi's repurposing. In fact, as they told Genius when asked for comment, they were apparently considering legal options.

Of course, Uzi wouldn't be the first artist to reference the cult's real-life tale of mass suicide and the "journey to the Next Level." In addition to that notable nod in Frank Ocean's "Nikes" video, some have interpreted Fall Out Boy's 2018 Mania cut "Heaven's Gate" as a romantic retelling of someone on a somewhat similar quest to a "Next Level" of purity.

Earlier this month, Uzi was featured on Young Thug's Slime Language compilation. The two apparently have as many as 1,500 song ideas in the bag. Uzi and Playboi Carti, meanwhile, estimate they're sitting on roughly 100 unreleased tracks. And just to ensure someone keeps putting this out into the universe, I'd like to again remind you that Marilyn Manson previously said he was planning to work with Uzi on a more rock-centered project.
