Iggy Azalea says she personally witnessed “abusive” behavior from Britney Spearsfather when she and the pop icon worked together on their 2015 collab “Pretty Girls.”

In a two-part letter shared to her Twitter on Wednesday night, Iggy said she wanted to speak out in an effort to offer support for Britney, as well as to share a firsthand account of the sort of behavior Jamie Spears has been alleged to have engaged in. According to Iggy, the father intimidated her into signing an NDA just before her and Britney’s “Pretty Girls” performance at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

“It’s basic human decency to at the very least remove a person Britney has identified as abusive from her life,” Iggy said Wednesday night. “This should be illegal. During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behavior Britney detailed in regards to her father last week and I just want to back her up and tell the world that: She is not exaggerating or lying.”

Azalea also recalled seeing Britney being restricted from “the most bizarre and trivial things,” including the number of sodas she was allowed to consume.

“Her father conveniently waited until literally moments before our BMAs performance when I was backstage in the dressing room and told me if I did not sign an NDA he would not allow me on stage,” the End of an Era artist said. “The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show. Jamie Spears has a habit of making people sign documents while under duress it seems, and Britney Spears should not be forced to co-exist with that man when she’s made it clear it is negatively impacting her mental health.”

Previously, Azalea was named in a number of viral tweets alongside other Britney collaborators, with fans criticizing them for “remaining silent” following Britney’s heartbreaking testimony. At the time, Iggy informed concerned fans that she had already reached out to Britney and said the singer could use her “if she needs my voice.”

On Wednesday, Variety cited new court documents as showing that a judge had again denied a 2020 request by Britney’s lawyer to have her father removed from the conservatorship. Notably, those documents didn’t mark a response to Britney’s testimony and instead stemmed from a request circa last November. The new documents also formally approved Bessemer Trust as co-conservator.
