Frank Ocean’s Mom Reminds Him of a Major Key He Missed When Sharing Skincare Routine

There was a lot to pull from GQ's recently published conversation between Frank Ocean and his Blonded Radio co-hosts Vegyn and Emmett Cruddas. In addition to some rare insight on Instagram dissonance and the SCOTTeVEST lifestyle, Ocean ended up speaking briefly on his skincare routine. Now, Ocean has been reminded that he left out a crucial component of his daily ritual: sunscreen.

Specifically, Ocean forgot to shout out chemical-free company Unsun Cosmetics. "Sorry ma," Ocean said when screenshotting a text from his mother about the GQarticle. Sunscreen in general, Ocean added, "really is theee daily key."

Asked by Cruddas during the article in question if he was planning to unveil his full skincare routine, Ocean looked back on some advice his mother. "Some days, like today, I feel very beautiful," he said. "But some days, like in the winter, when I wear a lot of knit hats, my skin doesn't like that. My mom told me years ago that you gotta get somebody to stitch the silk inside the lining of the cap so it doesn't irritate your skin, 'cause your skin is sensitive."

The main pull from the interview revolved around Ocean's breakdown of why he suddenly decided to make his Instagram public, therein vastly improving the Instagram experience for all. "I feel like there was dissonance between how I was seen by the audience and where I was actually, so that contributed to the decision to make my Instagram public, for sure," he said.
