Overnight, ASAP Ferg shared the new track "Value," marking the latest sign of an imminent new era following the release of last year's Floor Seats EP.

Earlier this month, Ferg joined fellow ASAP Mob creatives (including Rocky) for a special Breakfast Club appearance commemorating the annual Yams Day celebration. Ferg is expected to be readying a new project for a 2020 release, though it's not clear if that'll end up being a full-length studio album or another Floor Seats-esque project. His Still Striving tape arrived back in 2017.
Surrounding the release of "Value," Ferg also released the first episode of his Sewer Tapes series, featuring Dapper Dan. The inaugural episode was launched via Ferg's new Sewer TV YouTube channel.
Speaking about the new song with Zane Lowe in an interview that debuted on Wednesday, Ferg shouted out Kanye West and Pharrell as being presently inspirational. In fact, he and Kanye have been working together as of late.
"[We're] just making music and just having, like, a lot of conversation," Ferg said. "We talk most of the time. Sometimes we go to the studio and just talk and talk. If it wasn't for Kanye and Pharrell being in hip-hop, I would probably know how to do it, but they showed me how to just fully immerse in yourself and be yourself. Like, we never seen anybody do it in a different way besides those guys in my generation, so they inspired me."
The same interview also saw Ferg reflecting on the death earlier this month of Kobe Bryant.
"I was supposed to actually fly in to, um, L.A. the day he passed away, and actually go to Calabasas," Ferg said, later clarifying that he was flying in to work with Ye. "And, you know, he died in the area of the studio I was supposed to go to, so it just ... it was a damper. You know, some people, we just don't picture passing. I just didn't know he would go, or even go in that way."
