Busty and the Bass and STS

Still riding the high of  “Airplanes” with Cadence Weapon, Montreal jazz collective Busty and the Bass have just dropped their collaborative EP with STS.

Out via Arts & Crafts, Karneval shows the collective partnered with the Philly-by-way-of-Atlanta rapper for eight new tracks. The EP is described as “A collection of soulful late night hip-hop centred around the theme of an abandoned fairground, evoking memories of relationships, desire, and nostalgia.”

Karneval follows Busty and the Bass’ ET Suite EP, which reworked tracks off of their 2020 album Eddie. Before releasing new music this year, the band announced that founding member and saxophonist Nick Ferraro had left the group.

“Merry Go Round,” the first single from the EP, was named one of our favourite Canadian songs in March.
