Only a few months after Forbes anointed him the highest-paid hip-hop artist of 2017, the prestigious outlet has declared that the multi-monikered Sean Combs/Diddy/Puff Daddy/Puffy/P. Diddy/Brother Love is the highest-paid musician of the year, in any genre.
The Bad Boy founder brought in a career-high $130 million this year (technically, from June 1, 2016 to June 1, 2017). There were three big reasons for that: the Bad Boy reunion tour, the mogul's longstanding relationship with the liquor brand Ciroc, and a $70 million haul from selling a third of his Sean John clothing line.
Second on the list—but first in the Beyhive's hearts—is Beyoncé, who rode her surfboardt to $105 million, mostly thanks to her Formation World Tour. Drake came in third, with $94 million. His discovery-turned-competition the Weeknd was at number four, thanks primarily to an eight-figure advance from Live Nation.
