Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme on Kicking Photographer in the Face: ‘I Was a Total Dick’

The singer has shared a second apology for his actions at a recent concert.

Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme has released yet another apology video addressing the incident at the KROQ Acoustic Christmas concert in which he kicked a photographer named Chelsea Lauren.

A tearful-looking Homme addresses Lauren directly. "I don't have any excuse or reason to justify what I did. I was a total dick," Homme said. Well, he certainly got that right. Homme had reportedly been acting bizarrely throughout the show prior to the incident, Variety writes. According to Lauren, shortly after he assaulted her, he took out a knife and carved into his forehead. He also, at one point, addressed the crowd as "retards" and exclaimed "Fuck Muse!" in reference to the show's headliner.

Whatever his issue was, Homme now seems to be doubling down on his initial apology, which he first referred to as an "accident." Lauren insists that the attack was deliberate. "He looked straight at me, swung his leg back pretty hard, and full-blown kicked me in the face. He continued performing, I was startled, I kind of stopped looking at him, I just got down and was holding my face because it hurt so badly," Lauren said. Later that night, she received treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and has stated she will press charges against Homme. “I feel like if I don’t do anything, he gets to kick people in the face and not get in trouble because he’s a musician, that's not right," she said.

Homme's public display of remorse could be genuine, but in all likelihood could just be serving as some damage control for the band's PR. His initial apology:
