Drake has a history of helping artists throughout his career, and one of those instances was Pi’erre Bourne, who said he got his passport because of the 6 God.
During his interview with RapTV at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Bourne reflected on some of the pivotal moments in his career, citing his work with Drake as being at the top of the list. According to the “Magnolia” beatsmith, Drizzy brought him on the Boy Meets World Tour, and it was the first time he got to see the world.
However, to make the trip, Bourne had to get his passport, which according to him, would have never happened if Drizzy didn’t extend the invitation to join his international tour in 2017.
"When we were on tour together, that was cool," Pi'erre Bourne said about working with Drake. "Boy Meets World Tour, that was awesome. We went to Australia, New Zealand. So, he actually showed me the world. Early on, when I was fresh off my friend's couch. He got me my passport. Drake helped me get my passport again."
This isn’t the first time Drake helped someone get into a country. In 2020, Roddy Ricch took to Twitter and revealed he was initially denied entry into Canada for undisclosed reasons. However, a quick call to the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper took care of Roddy’s situation.
"Called Drake and bro he got me into Canada," the rapper tweeted alongside a flexing emoji.
Drake’s international influence was even praised on wax by Gucci Mane, who referenced the Toronto megastar getting him into Canada on their 2016 joint record "Both." "I got so many felonies I might can't never go to Canada/But Drake said he gon' pull some strings, so let me check my calendar," Gucci raps in the song.
Drake’s Boy Meets World Tour had two different legs, one that started in Europe and ran from January 2017 to March 2017 and the second kicking off in Australia and New Zealand in November 2017. Opening acts for the European leg included R&B duo dvsn and Young Thug, while the openers for the Oceanic concerts were Boi-1da and Pi’erre Bourne, who each performed respective DJ sets.
