After dropping a slew of singles over the past few months, Killy has finally dropped his latest project, an EP titled Crazy Life of Sin.
The eight-track EP features the previously released tracks “CEO,” “Vince Carter,” with Smiley, and “Y?”
Crazy Life of Sin doesn’t stray too far from the aesthetic established by the singles, but Killy experiments with different sounds across the EP especially on “Shot Caller” where he incorporates electronic instrumentals readying it for plays in the club.
Killy mostly handles the rest of the project on his own, save for “Killy Killy” where the Toronto rapper enlists Cleveland’s Doe Boy.
Boi-1da appears on the project as the producer for the Smiley-assisted “Vince Carter,” while Oz, Jaegen, T99, and Y2K contributed behind the boards for the rest of the project.
The EP was originally meant to come out in 2020, but after numerous delays, Killy finally felt it was ready to close out 2022.
In the hours leading up to the EP’s release, Killy hinted at releasing music far more frequently in 2023.
“This release means a lot to me because it represents my creative freedom… I recently got out of my deal with Epic Records, which opens up a new chapter that I’m excited for,” Killy said in a press release. “Although my time with the label had many positives, being independent allows me to be more hands-on with my ability to release music when and how I want to. Regaining my freedom and getting back to my independent roots are things I’m very grateful for.”
