Earlier today, Diplo hopped off of Twitter and Instagram to get his Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on, and we learned a lot from the Mad Decent head. Sure, we've been following his DJ career and blossoming production credits over the last decade, but to have the people, his fans, hitting him with questions? You end up learning a lot more than you realized about the DJ/producer/father/visionary than you'd realize. Not everything is groundbreaking, but from music you can look out for in the near future to why he signed Dillon Francis, here are the things we learned from Diplo's Reddit AMA.
His Halloween costume
Diplo says he's going as "a huge #64" in homage to his place on the 2013 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list.

The 2014 Mad Decent Block Party will be huge
Diplo says they're planning on doing "over 20" in the U.S. and South Africa; he's hoping for London and Paris, but we'll see what happens.

He has a date for the Gamma Phi Beta Spring Formal
We'll see if he's a man to his word. He also apparently has a lunch date in Tallahassee at a sorority next week.
Making music in a room full of people can be key
It looks like tracks like Usher's "Climax" and M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" came about while Diplo was bouncing ideas around a room full of people.

He has "lots of" "Florida"-esque material on his computer
Florida was the downtempo/trip-hop style album that Diplo put out on Ninja Tune back in 2004. Diplo says he has material in that vein sitting around, and even gave Chris Brown a track in that style that made Chris' next album.

Diplo doesn't think doing drugs every night sounds fun
He might take an adderal if he's just gotten in on the red eye, though, and he did do MDMA in Toronto and "and played like 10 minute deep techno mixes .. it didnt kill it."
Die Antwoord's Ninja and RiFF RAFF don't "switch out of character"
Diplo says Die Antwoord's Ninja is very smart and is an artist at heart that's really proud of being South African... but has a weird way of expressing it.

His feelings about his relationship with M.I.A.
Instead of slinging mud or bringing up drama, Diplo kept it real, and says that it was "nice while it lasted."

Diplo thinks you need to watch out for Chronixx
Chronixx has put out a Major Lazer-presented mixtape last year, and Diplo feels he's the next to cross over.

The Major Lazer idea came together at a bar one day
Nope, no crazy story on how this one was born. The most important part about it was that Diplo insisted that they follow up on it the next day.

Diplo doesn't have one spot that he buys his suits from
Here are some of the stores that you'll have to hit to get your fresh on like Diplo does.

Why he signed Dillon Francis
This is golden: "i invited dillon over to help me with a remix (of kelly rowland) and all his music was better then mine so i signed him."

Diplo on mainstream music stealing ideas from underground artists
"its happenin so fast now ... theres no way to control it.. but lots of those artists arent able to connect with fans anymore .. meanwhile someone like lords is able to really take off ith honesy original music.."

Paul Devro has been trying to sign Hucci for over a year
The problem? The right sample-free tune. You hear that, Hucci?
