As of today, production has begun on a documentary that will tell the story of Jeezy and his come-up into a multi-platinum artist, Deadline reports. The project, which remains untitled, will be directed by Mandon Lovett, the man behind The Field: Violence, Hip-Hop, and Hope in Chicago.
The documentary comes from a new music division of OBB Pictures, the same production company that brought you Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls. OBB Music will focus on telling the stories of the world’s biggest artists. The company is currently working on two other new projects besides the Jeezy documentary: the first is a docuseries that will chronicle music artists on the brink of their breakout moments, produced in partnership with the Outbreak Tour (which has previously included acts like Kendrick Lamar, 21 Savage, and Logic). The second project is a mockumentary poking fun at Behind the Music.
“Ever since we launched OBB, we’ve been looking for unique angles to break into the music space. We’re excited to introduce this division with a set of dynamic projects that take a peek behind the curtain of our favorite artists’ lives to tell authentic stories in the unscripted space, as well as create opportunities for artists to branch out in scripted projects tailored to them and their fan base,” said founder Michael D. Ratner.
Earlier this year, Jeezy announced that his upcoming album, Thug Motivation 104, will be his last. Thug Motivation 101 dropped back in '05; the most recent installment, in 2011, featured Lil Wayne, Pusha-T, JAY-Z, T.I., André 3000, and Future.

Jeezy's latest project was Pressure in 2017. Before that, Trap or Die 3 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in 2016.
