Four years later, French revealed on Big Boy TV’s Gimme 5 segment that the two never actually spoke to one another during the shoot, and their interactions were limited to Kodak growling at him. Even though Big Boy asked him to name someone he has collaborated with who was the most difficult, French wanted to be clear that Kodak wasn’t necessarily difficult, but that they were both "about that life." Skip ahead to the 2:30 mark on the video up top.

"Me and him didn't have, like, one conversation when we shot the video. I just looked at him, and he growled at me. Yo, that's my dog," French remembered, laughing. "Shout out to my dog. We was getting lit, we was drinking. He live that rock star life. He about that life."

When Big Boy pressed further on French's account, the "Unforgettable" rapper responded, "We was both geeked. He was living that rock star life. Free Kodak."

Kodak was sentenced in November 2019 to 46 months in prison with three years of supervised release for allegedly lying to a gun dealer twice in an effort to purchase a firearm. On Sunday, a post alleged that Kodak was involved in an altercation where he was "badly beaten" by seven correctional officers while handcuffed at the penitentiary in Big Sandy, Kentucky. His legal team is pursuing legal action that could lead to the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice launching an investigation.
