At the annual Black Girls Rock! Awards, Rihanna took home this year's Rock Star award. Of course, Ri took a moment in her acceptance speech to thank BET for partnering with the organization for a televised event that celebrates black girls "in a world that doesn't celebrate us enough." Ri went on thank everyone on behalf of all the winners adding, "we do what we love and we try to do our part in our community." Rihanna went on to thank the very strong women in her family, including her mother and grandmother, for giving her the power to grow up strong and fulfill her purpose.
Then, Ri ended her speech on a particularly high note by encouraging everyone to accept themselves. "The only thing that has kept me going is being myself. The minute you learn to love yourself, you would not want to be anybody else," before adding, "All girls rock. Black girls... We're just on another level."
