Meg Myers' powerful vocal prowess has never been as sharp as it is on her new album Sorry. As a Complex indie artist you should know since 2012, her debut album is a long time coming for fans of her full-frontal, no holds barred brand of indie rock who first fell in love with the singer with the release of her debut EP Daughter In The Choir. In the spring, we premiered the first taste of her album with the title track "Sorry" that arrived with hook-heavy intensity as Meg cried "Your tears they taste like vinegar and blood./And these conversations/choke us till were numb." Over the summer, she offered us "Lemon Eyes" that saw her coaxing taut, deep-seated 80's rock riffs with a life-affirming chorus declaring "You're mine."

Picking up where "Sorry" and "Lemon Eyes" left off, Sorry is Meg's long-awaited guttural purge that welcomes us back into the dark, underworld of her anguish as menacing strings immediately set the tone on opening track "Motel." From there, Sorry dives deeper into instinctual longing ("Desire") and devastating moments of soft self-reflection ("Parade") where Meg realizes that even the best guys are not necessarily the right one ("You're more than enough it's crazy/But I'll never love you baby.") While we all feel sadness, Meg continues to wear it on her sleeve like a badge of honesty, permeating her songs with a violent surge of thrashing vocals and searing screams that promise to satiate all your sadness needs. Listen to Sorry below on Spotify or pick it up on iTunes.
