Here at Complex, we love Puff Daddy because he's the real big homie. "Epic" is one of the most overused words on the Internet, but that's really the word to describes Puffy best. From his Halloween costumes to his record sales in the '90s, Diddy always does it big. One thing in particular he's always been known to do was throw dope parties, including his infamous annual White Party in the Hamptons. As much as we'd love to get invited to that party just to turn up with the man himself, we're starting to rethink our whole "how awesome would it be to party with Diddy?" mentality. Mostly because over the weekend at Club Liv in Miami, Puff allegedly got into an altercation with Drake over the "0 to 100" beat. But it's only the latest in a string of incidents where Diddy got a lil too turnt up at the club and things got messy. Check out some of the reasons why you might not want to party with Diddy....

One of the weirdest rumor-fueled stories that emerged last year was whatever the hell happened between Diddy and J. Cole at the Ciroc Amaretto Launch Party/VMA after-party at the Ph-D at Dream Downtown in New York City. The story goes like this: A visibly drunk Diddy tried to confront Kendrick Lamar and pour a drink on him at the party because he was upset at Kendrick’s “King of New York” line from “Control,” which had dropped a few weeks prior.
For whatever reason, Cole tried to intervene on Kendrick’s behalf but ended up in an altercation with Puffy himself and eventually got kicked out. The rumor mill was in full swing from there. A few months later, in October, Cole and Diddy got together and made light of the incident in a video and appeared to be on good terms. But still, does Puffy really believe there’s such a thing as a “King of New York” anymore?

Puffy might be the best liquor spokesman in the world. Before he started peddling Ciroc, we had never even heard of it. Now, it’s so ubiquitous in hip-hop that anyone who has seen a rap video in the past few years knows exactly what it is. But it seems like Diddy may have taken his duties way too seriously.
Back in 2011, at a BET Hip Hop Awards Weekend after-party at Compound nightclub, Diddy grabbed a mic and started hyping the crowd up. But then he spotted someone drinking Grey Goose and actually threw ice at the guy before taunting him on the mic. That’s when T.I., who was released from federal custody just days before, had to tell Puff to chill out and let the man drink what he wants. You know you’re too turnt when T.I. of all people has to tell you to chill out.
Someone in his entourage might pull out a gun and leave several people injured.

On December 28, 1999 Puff Daddy almost lost it all. While at Club New York in Midtown Manhattan, Puffy was celebrating the release of Shyne’s self-titled debut album with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. Puffy allegedly bumped into another patron at the club, Matthew Allen, and knocked his drink out of his hand. This led to a shoving match, and eventually shots were fired in the club and three people were left injured. J. Lo was quickly acquitted of any wrongdoing, but Puffy and Shyne went to trial. Shyne ended up being found guilty and serving nearly nine years for assault, gun possession, and reckless endangerment. Puffy, however, walked away scot-free while Shyne accused Puff of selling him out.

Everyone remembers the so-called “East Coast/West Coast” rap rivalry of the ’90s. It had many significant moments of escalation including Suge taunting Puffy at the 1995 Source Awards, the shooting of 2Pac at Quad Studios, and the release of Pac’s “Hit ’Em Up.” But one sometimes-forgotten incident in Atlanta left a man dead. Both Suge and Puffy were in attendance at Jermaine Dupri’s birthday party at Platinum House. A fight broke out and left Jake Robles, a Death Row employee and friend of Suge Knight, dead on the ground. Witnesses accused Puffy’s bodyguard of doing the shooting, and Suge went on to blame Puffy for the entire incident. This one might not actually be Puffy’s fault, but considering their brewing beef, this one couldn’t have come at a worse time.

The great Combat Jack once wrote about the gulliest moments he’d ever seen in the music industry and included a story calleda “P. Diddy Is a Gorilla Pimp.” In spring 1995, there was a weekly dinner at club Esso in New York for New York’s hip-hop insiders. One week, Puffy walks in there with his entourage and a rapper named Positive K walks in on his own. Puffy had recently produced a song for Positive K but hadn’t received payment (which was supposedly in the $5,000 range). Puffy had previously approached K in L.A. about the money only to get snubbed, and when Puff approached him this time he got snubbed again. According to Combat Jack, “Puff whips out his cell phone (phones at the time were about the size of a brick) and starts whupping on K's head like there's no effin tomorrow!” This is one of those lesser-known stories about Puffy, but in light of this recent scuffle with Drake, it seems like this isn’t the first time he’s flipped out over a beat.
