The number of new artists popping up is overwhelming, to say nothing of the amount of music from artists who've already won us over that drops on any given Friday. This week alone is packed, and not even representative of the worst it could be. The end result is a lot of great music getting overlooked, but if there's one project from a new jack that you should absolutely make it a priority to check out, it's From My Point of View: Reloaded from Atlanta's own Landstrip Chip.

Chip's been on the scene and grinding for a minute, but FMPOV marks his debut project since signing with Def Jam, and it's a hell of a first impression—I've been running back a private stream for weeks now. I don't know what's in the water down in Georgia, but Atlanta just keeps on supplying some of the sharpest writers, crooners, and rappers the game has ever been gifted with. Chip is already adept at all three, serving up a cocktail of melodic, sing-songy raps with effortless verve like he's Ty Dolla's heir or something.

Across the project's thirteen tracks, Chip switches melodies and flows as if he had a stick shift in the booth, with enough handle on both to necessitate multiple rewinds. I've been stuck on "Thumb" (which boasts a feature from Atlanta upperclassman Lil Baby), "Smoke Clears," and most especially, "Came a Long Way." Peep From My Point of View: Reloaded below and see what jumps out at you. If this is Chip reloaded, can't wait to see what he does with an extendo.
