Two talented Tarheels, J. Cole and Rapsody, teamed up on Friday to deliver one of the most entertaining tracks of the year with their new single "Sojourner." It's set to appear on the upcoming compilation album Jamla Is the Squad II, a perfect reminder of what Rapsody and 9th Wonder's Jamla Records has to offer.

As expected when two gifted lyricists connect, "Sojourner" is filled with bars skillfully highlighting a variety of topics. To complement their lyrical prowess, Cole and Rapsody incorporate a melodic chorus and bridge that helps ease the pace. The choice in arrangement speaks to the intangibles of both rappers, and ends up sounding the way an alley-oop from Michael Jordan to Vince Carter looks.

Jamla Is the Squad II drops Nov. 9 and features Busta Rhymes, Black Thought, Big K.R.I.T., Pharoahe Monch, David Banner, Sir, and more.
