Following Nicki Minaj's BET Awards speech several weeks ago, the rap world started to speculate about possible beef between her and Iggy Azalea. Nicki denied the rumor on Twitter, and shortly after, Iggy said that she was "unbothered" by anything that took place. But judging from comments Iggy's boyfriend Nick Young made during an interview with the New York Daily News, things might have actually been a bit tense between the two.
“I had to deal with the aftermath of all that," Swaggy P said about Iggy's reaction to Nicki's speech. “When she came home and was going through her phones, hearing everybody talking trash about her. I had to be there for her.” He also had an explanation for why his girlfriend was receiving the criticism: “Iggy is doing big things and that is what is scaring people. She is going to brush it off. She won’t let it get to her. She is number one — what can you do? She’s at the top right now, so of course they are going to come at you.”
No, Young didn't say Nicki's name in the interview, and he was careful not to reignite the tension by saying anything reckless. But this probably won't be the last time we hear about rumors of beef between two of rap's biggest stars. This won't go away until they share the same stage together.
