Joe Budden has apologized to Rory after a clip of Budden firing his former co-host went viral.
âSeeing all of this feedback and all thisâI do need to apologize to Rory, as well. Maybe Rory and Mal, too, but definitely Rory,â Joe said on the newest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast around the 55:45 minute mark, adding that, âthings sound a lot spicier in the go-out.â
He also said he asked for the aforementioned clip to be edited out of the episode.
âEver since that last pod, Iâve just been having like pictures in my head of every moment that me and the guys have ever had together,â he said. âWhen I say I didnât ask you to do shit for meââcause I donât ask yâall to do shit for me but thatâs a man thing to me. You just donât ask men too much shit but when I said I didnât ask you to do something, it donât mean Iâm not appreciative. It donât mean Iâm not grateful. It just means I never asked.â
âWhen do you say that and not sound like a dickhead?â He continued, âI donât want that to affect people I love which is why Iâm going to apologize to Rory because me and Rory have so many fly n***a moments together. Like, fly, friend type of vibeyâlike, itâs unfortunate that they might not feel that weâre so friendly today and itâs unfortunate that I canât tell you how we got here, maybe aside fromâif Iâm taking accountabilityâpoor leadership skills.â
Rory and Mal have also issued their response to Joeâs firing. A new clip, titled Iâll Name This Response Later, shows the pair sitting down together as Mal deliberates on why he thinks Joe thought the podcast was successful.
âThrough all of this, Iâve had time to replay some shit in my head,â he continued. âHe said something at the Highline Ballroom show we did, when we were in the dressing room. He had went outside, he had recorded the people wrapped around the corner and he came back and he said, âYo, I got these n***as wrapped around the block. I got the line around the corner.â And I looked at him and I said, âJoe, you donât have the line around the corner. We have the line around the corner.â Because youâve done shows here before, and youâve never had the line around the corner.â
Joeâs censure of Rory and Mal arrived on Wednesdayâs episode of the podcast, just a few weeks after his ex-co-hosts had returned to the podcast following a hiatus.
On IG Live, Budden responded to Mal and Roryâs response video, saying he still loves them. He also gives further context to some of their accusations.
Following the weekend activities, Mal seemingly teased a potential project with Rory in the near future.
