It looks like Gunna gave Young Thug a shout-out on the incarcerated rapper’s birthday.
Gunna took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, posting a photo of him with Thugger in a hot pink Bentley. The post wasn’t accompanied by any text, but Thug did turn 32 on Wednesday—his second birthday spent behind bars.
Gunna and Thug have been on the outs following Gunna’s Alford plea deal and rumors that he snitched on Thug. The pair, as well as 26 others associated with YSL Records, were charged in a 56-count RICO indictment in May 2022. Gunna got out in late 2022 after pleading guilty to a sole racketeering conspiracy charge.
Gunna has denied that he snitched, later addressing the accusations on his new album A Gift & a Curse. “Know you hearin’ the lies that your lil’ brother might fold (Gunna Wunna) / Yeah, I had popped out, but don’t let ’em say I told,” he raps on the song, “I Was Just Thinking.”
Young Thug dropped his own album a week later, Business is Business, also addressing the alleged snitching on the track “Jonesboro”: “N****s told and he was my homie, I can’t miss him, Ain’t nobody feel him," he raps,
Thug was initially charged with one count of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act and one count of participating in criminal street activity. He was then hit with eight more charges, including possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a machine gun, and three counts of violating the Georgia Controller Substances Act.
