Travis Scott Loses Court Battle Over Canceled Show; Ordered to Pay Nearly $400,000

Travis Scott was dealt an expensive legal blow.

A jury recently ordered the ASTROWORLD rapper to pay nearly $400,000 to PJAM, a Minneapolis promotion company that sued Scott over a 2018 Super Bowl gig. The plaintiffs claimed they had paid the Houston artist $150,000 upfront as well as $10,000 to his booking agent. They also provided Scott with a private jet and covered the show's promotional costs. Hours before Scott was set to take the stage, however, his team informed PJAM that he had to cancel, citing weather conditions and logistics. The company claims Scott simply "refused to show up to the event"

It's worth noting that the show was scheduled for Feb. 3, 2018, just days after Scott and Kylie Jenner welcomed their first child together. It's also worth noting that Scott had booked two shows on the night of Feb. 3: There was the canceled gig in Minneapolis, and another in Las Vegas, which he performed at.

According to the lawsuit, PJAM demanded Scott return the $150,000 plus damages. The rapper counter-sued the company in April 2018, claiming they never confirmed his travel plans and owed him $50,000 for the deal. He also accused PJAM of violating a confidentiality agreement by speaking to the press.

Scott's attorney Howard King called the suit a "shakedown." But a jury clearly disagreed, as they ultimately rewarded PJAM $382,932.79 in the case.
