The past couple of years have been huge for Nav. In addition to dropping a handful of mixtapes, the XO artist has worked alongside heavy-hitters like Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, and, of course, the Weeknd. But despite all the success, the Toronto rapper is aware that heâs still relatively new to the whole hip-hop game, as well as all the hate and jealousy that comes with it.
Nav addresses this very topic in his latest aptly titled single âFreshman List.â
âTrade my Honda to a Bentley
Now these fuckboys wanna end me
Ammunition, I got plenty I squeezed it till itâs empty
My haters, they resent me
Never checking what they send me
Donât touch me, I ainât friendly
Iâm driving foreigns, I ainât renting
Your career is stuck on pending
âThe track arrived just several days after Nav announced his first headlining tour, which is called Freshman. The North American trek will kick off April 24 in Santa Ana, California, and will include stops in Seattle, Dallas, Miami, and Philadelphia, before concluding May 23 in Detroit. He will be joined by special guest 88Glam. Â
Nav is also gearing up to release his long-awaited debut album, which he claims is âpretty much done.â
âI'm really heavily involved in the production this time, as far as like the beats and stuff... It's got some good features on there,â he told Tim Westwood last month. â[âŚ] Itâs coming very soon. Iâm gonna announce it, sooner or later. Youâre gonna get a date.â
Weâre not sure what Nav means by âsoon,â but we're glad he came through with new music to keep us satisfied in the meantime. You can listen to âFreshman Listâ now on Spotify.
