Here's How Kendrick Lamar Contributed to Nicki Minaj's Made in America Performance

The 'Queen' rapper gave a shoutout to K-Dot and his team for donating fireworks for her big finale Sunday night. Nicki also thanked Jay-Z and Tidal for booking her and "believing in me no matter what."

Jay-Z’s 2018 Made in America Festival was one for the books.

Nicki Minaj closed out the event with a star-studded set that included appearances by Lil Uzi Vert, 6ix9ine, and ASAP Ferg. There were also a few wardrobe malfunctions throughout the performance, but Nicki handled it like a boss.

Before I even put my album out Jay/Tidal booked me for this show. I just want to say thank you to them for believing in me no matter what. We received incredible feedback from all around the world. Not only did the crowd stay to the end, they rapped every word. So grateful. 🙏🏽

Days after the festival wrapped up, the rapper went to Twitter to express her gratitude. She thanked Jay and Tidal for booking her as the headliner even before she released her Queen album.

“I just want to say thank you to them for believing in me no matter what,” she tweeted to Hov and the Tidal team. “We received incredible feedback from all around the world.”

And S/O to Kendrick & his team for giving me their fireworks for the end of my show. They said it made more sense for it to close out the end of the night. Real niggaz do Real things. They looked beautiful & went perfect with the end of moment 4 life. I know the crowd loved it.

Nicki also gave a shout out to Kendrick Lamar, who also performed at Made in America right before the Queens rapper. Apparently, the big pyrotechnics show was intended for K-Dot’s set; however, his crew decided to let Nicki have the fireworks because they were more appropriate for the finale.

On Monday, Nicki appeared on the Ellen, where she discussed a wide range of topics, including her love life, her new album, and her beef with Travis Scott. As many of you know, Nicki called out the ASTROWORLD rapper for using merch bundles and Kylie Jenner to secure more album units. She has insisted these tactics helped Travis secure a No. 1 spot on the charts, when it should’ve gone to Queen.

“I felt like I wanted to punch him in his fucking face,” she told Ellen. “I don’t like being bullied and I don’t like being taken advantage of. And sometimes people use scare tactics against you, because they know, especially as a black woman, people will call you angry or bitter, and so now it’s almost like we’re not allowed to defend ourselves or stand up for ourselves.”
