Jim Jones Slapped With 5 Felony Charges Stemming From June Arrest

The Diplomats rapper is facing three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a firearm.

Jim Jones’ legal issues have become much more serious.

This week, the Diplomats rapper was charged with multiple felonies stemming from a car chase back in June. Jones was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle that was being pursued in Coweta County, Georgia. Shortly after officers successfully pulled the car over, they discovered marijuana, oxycodone, Percocet pills, vape cartridges, and two loaded guns inside. Jones and the three other people in the car refused to claim possession, so they were all booked on weapons- and drug-related charges.

Jones vaguely spoke about the arrest with Angie Martinez back in June and spoke about wanting to be the first one to tell his 15-year-old son what went down. “What I can say is that, one of the things that concerned me the most was…I wanted to get home before my son woke up. So that I could speak to him before he seen it anywhere else, because my son is my partner.”

According to TMZ, Jones has officially been hit with five felonies—three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a firearm—as well as one misdemeanor for possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Jones’ arraignment will take place later this month. He could receive a decades-long prison sentence if convicted on all charges.
