Jeremih and Ty Dolla Sign didnât leave fans hangingâat least not this time.
Near the end of 2017, Chicago producer Hitmaka confirmed the duo had completed a joint project that would later be dubbed MihTy. Since then, Jeremih and Ty have steadily teased the effort with a number of promotional singles, including âThe Light,ââGoin Thru Some Thangz,â and âNew Levelâ featuring Lil Wayne; however, the roll out wasnât exactly the smoothest.
During an appearance on the Joe Budden Podcast, Hitmaka announced the album would span 21 cuts and officially hit streaming services during the NBA All-Star 2018 weekend. That obviously didnât happen.
Ty later claimed the project would arrive sometime in June and that it had been edited down to 13-14 tracks.
âNext month Iâm dropping a whole another project with me and my brother Jeremih. Thatâs like a full-length album. Iâm so excited for one,â Ty told Zane Lowe in May. â[âŠ] Itâs nothing but smashes. We did it with my bro Hitmaka. He produced the whole shit, so itâs like a consistent album of bangers. I promise you, we probably did like eight sessions, maybe less than that, and we got like 60 songs, and we had to choose like 13-14. So thereâs leftovers from that project that we could probably give away to some of the homies.â
June came and went, with no album in sight. It was later announced that MihTy would drop at the end of August, but those plans were scrappedâonce again.
In the days leading up to MihTyâs release, fans finally got a look at the albumâs official cover art and 11-song tracklist. The project includes the aforementioned singles, as well as titles like âImitate,â âFYTâ with French Montana, â as well as âSurroundedâ featuring Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa.
You can stream the album now on Apple Music/iTunes.
MihTy arrives as Ty prepares to drop his collaborative project with Kanye West.
