The Internet Discuss What to Expect From Their Solo Projects In OTHERtone Interview

New music on the way from The Internet.

The Internet stopped by Pharrell's OTHERtone radio to discuss their group, working on their new album, and progress on their recently-announced solo projects. Although the episode doesn't air in full until this Sunday, Dec. 11, a long preview of it is available now via Apple Music.

Syd talked about what to expect from each of their projects, saying they would each give more insight into what every member contributes to the group as a whole. "More than anything you'll see what we all add to The Internet as individuals. Like my album, you'll probably say 'Oh okay I get it, she probably writes a lot of it'," she said, noting that they each got to express themselves more so than they could on their group album. She also said to expect her solo album to sound "more mainstream" than The Internet's music, with a lot of pop influences.

The group first revealed that they were working on solo projects in their Fader cover story in October. Syd's is called Dive, Matt's is unnamed but on the way soon, and several other members have material in various stages of completion. They're all going to coalesce to release a follow up to their 2015 project Ego Death. It's expected sometime this spring, although doesn't have a firm release date as of yet.

The full OTHERtone episode airs on Sunday, but you can check out an 8-minute preview of the show above to hear more about The Internet's plans for 2017 and the secret to their collaborative group dynamic.
