Rae Sremmurd might have a song called "Up Like Trump," but when it comes to Trump's politics, it looks like they aren't huge fans. "Fuck Donald Trump," yelled Swae Lee during the group's set at SXSW, according to a report from The Fader. "We're voting for Bernie Sanders," he added.
Backstage, he elaborated on his feelings about the Republican front runner. "Man, he’s a businessman," he said. "He shouldn’t be trying to go into office with it. Leave that to the real politicians." He noted that he's not mad about Trump's success, but that he wasn't a fan of the inflammatory rhetoric he often employs at his rallies. "Still get your money, but you don’t need to put a negative influence in the world. People are already gullible. Don’t lead them in the wrong direction. We’re trying to see progress. Sremm life."
In addition to getting their politics on, the Rae Sremmurd boys have been hard at work on their music. They recently released the mixtape Trail Mix alongside their SremmLifeCrew affiliates. The young rap duo also dropped the video for "By Chance" yesterday.
