Legendary hip-hop producer Mike Dean is no stranger to an analog synthesizer, and he proved it yet again with his new track "Grande Faucon." Produced in only 48 hours while at the Moog Music Factory in Asheville, N.C., the song showcases Dean's skilled production techniques. Using six of Moog's Mother-32 synthesizers and a Voyager XL as his master controller, Dean goes to town, cooking up a enjoyable new instrumental track he calls "Grande Faucon."
In the video, you can see him in the creation process. He lights up a blunt before launching into an intense beat-making session. He twists knobs and mashes buttons to switch up the sound of the track as he goes, before setting things up on the keys. Considering Dean is a producer who's worked with artists like Kanye West, Jay Z, Nate Dogg, Scarface, and 2Pac, it's always cool to get a deeper look into his work habits and production sessions. Clearly his trip down to North Carolina helped get his creative juices flowing, and now we all have "Grande Faucon" to enjoy because of it.
