Thanks to the never-ending media attention paid to the influx of 20-something hipsters from Whogivesafuckville, Middle America, it can be easy to lose sight of the community spirit that makes Brooklyn so great. Love him or hate him, Desiigner clearly hasn't forgotten about his Brooklyn roots, and over the holiday weekend, he decided to give BK residents a 4th of July surprise with an impromptu performance of his mega-hit "Panda" at a community park. After grabbing a megaphone, Desiigner shouted, gyrated, and did that thing Desiigner does when he performs "Panda," much to the delight of the crowd.
Desiigner gets a lot of hate—sometimes with good reason—but it's hard to think of a single artist at his current level of fame who would do something like this just for the fun of it. While the typically goofy performance earned him a little roasting on Twitter, his decision to treat the block to a free performance of a current No. 1 hit also garnered some respect.
Even if you're not a fan of Desiigner's music, it's hard not to smile when you see something like this. Dude really is living his best life.
