Alicia Keys is back with her sixth studio album Here. The 16-track project includes "The Gospel," "Holy War," and "Blended Family" with ASAP Rocky, the three singles she released in the past few weeks. She also released a 23-minute short film for "The Gospel" via Tidal, which addressed topics like police brutality and included a sneak peek at several of the songs on Here.
Keys surprised fans by DMing several of them the album's track list personally last week.
She also promoted the album with a free concert in Times Square last month. During the performance, she brought out Jay Z for the most NYC rendition of "Empire State of Mind" ever. Stars like Questlove, John Mayer, Q-Tip, and Nas also joined her for the star-studded set.
“This album is so much about life. It’s about New York City. It’s about my city. It’s about us as people. It’s about all the stories that I saw growing up,” Keys explained during a recent appearance on The Today Show. “It’s aggressive. It’s raw. It’s me being my most truthful, my most call-it-as-it-is, my most honest. It is such powerful music, you are going to go crazy.”
