Just a few days after honoring his late friend Young Dolph on the closing track to his new compilation album So Icy Christmas, Gucci Mane has returned with an accompanying video.
Helmed by Omar the Director, the visual includes photos of Gucci with Dolph, as well as footage from the Memphis rapper’s recent memorial service.
“R.I.P. to Dolph, long, long live the legend/From Memphis to the 6, they felt you in the bricks/The day you died, it broke my heart, a day I won’t forget/One thing you know, you’re missed, one thing you know, we pissed,” Gucci raps over the Metro Boomin and Zaytoven-produced beat.
Young Dolph was fatally shot outside of Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies, a local bakery in Memphis, on Nov. 17. Makeda’s Cookies has since revealed plans to rename the artist’s favorite cookie—chocolate chip—after him.
“That was one thing that Dolph did, [he] used to say when you get off the expressway. He was like, ‘I can smell y’all. I’m getting off the expressway. I had to come in,” operations manager Raven Winton said. “To know that we’re not going to see that face anymore is...I’m trying to hold back tears.”
