Brooklyn-based rapper Fetty Luciano is no longer facing a murder charge in connection to a 2022 shooting out on Long Island.

AllHipHop reports prosecutors have decided to not pursue the attempted murder charge against Luciano. The 27-year-old rapper had been charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted second-degree assault, misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment.

Fetty, who was accused of firing a gun at three people during a pool party that took place in July 2022 at The Mansion at Glen Cove, pleaded not guilty to the charges. All three victims survived the shooting.

“This defendant allegedly brought a loaded gun into a crowded private event and, during an altercation, discharged the weapon and struck three victims,” Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly said. “Thankfully, the defendant’s alleged reckless actions did not cause life-threatening injuries to the victims and no one else was hurt.”

While Luciano avoids the attempted murder charge, he still faces up to 15 years in prison for the remaining charges. His next court date is reportedly scheduled for March 31.

Luciano made waves in the Brooklyn hip-hop scene following his 2018 arrest alongside fellow GS9 member Bobby Shmurda. While locked up, Fetty dropped his breakthrough project Story to Tell, which was highlighted by features from Shmurda and Gunna, among others. The rising talent has since released several one-off singles, most recently his 2020 offering “Bendi.”
