Drake Loses $500,000 After Betting on Israel Adesanya to KO Sean Strickland in UFC 293

Drake's loss arrives a few months after he won $1.38 million after wagering $1 million on Gervonta “Tank” Davis to win against Ryan Garcia.

Drake lost $500,000 on Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who suffered a defeat at the hands of Sean Strickland over the weekend in UFC 293.

Judges scored it 49-46 on all cards for Strickland, who upset Adesanya in the pair's middleweight title fight Sunday in Sydney, Australia.

On Friday, Drizzy took to Instagram to reveal he'd bet $500,000 on Adesanya, which gave the Toronto rapper a chance to take home $920,000.

Drake's loss arrives a few months after he won $1.38 million after wagering $1 million on Gervonta “Tank” Davis to win against Ryan Garcia. Davis won in a seventh-round knockout. Drake's large payout came more than a year after another million-plus wager, which saw Drizzy take home $1.4 million in winnings after placing $1.26 million between three wagers for the Rams to win the Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Granted, it isn't the first time Drake's been on the losing end of a bet. In February, the 6 God bet $400,000 on Paul to beat Tommy Fury. Instead, the 26-year-old suffered the first defeat of his boxing career.

“$400,000 is nothing to him,” Paul told reporters after his loss. “He’s won a lot more money betting on me before, so he’s about even now. Sorry Drake, I am going to get that W in the rematch.”

Meanwhile, the longtime Kentucky Wildcats fan also lost $100,000 after the Duke Blue Devils lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Final Four in April 2022.
