On Tuesday, DaniLeigh opened up about her “toxic” relationship with DaBaby in an interview with Angie Martinez, describing the couple’s infamous fight on Instagram Live as “very triggering.”

The North Carolina rapper took to Instagram Tuesday night to tell his side of the story, accusing DaniLeigh of not being honest about what led up to the argument and their subsequent split.

“I was gon’ respond a different way but I gathered myself and I decided to respond this way,” DaBaby began. “First of all, I feel like you waited too late. I told you back in December you should capitalize off of the situation so, I feel like that’s a bad move.”

He went on to question why DaniLeigh and her label organized an interview with Martinez on the same day she released a diss song aimed at him, before accusing her of stalking “my baby mama.”

“I also feel like it’s a green move for your label to have you drop the interview the same time you dropping the new song,” he said. “I feel like y’all kinda showin’ y’all hand. I feel like y’all shoulda put that together better. … And I also feel like you should tell folks the real reason why I put you out. It’s ’cause you was stalkin’ my baby mama.”

“I just didn’t want you around me no more,” he added. “Just like today, just about to have another birthday party for my princess and you done got on here lying, playing just like before, you affecting my relationship with my other children ’cause you causing stuff over there. You need to just stay over there where you at.”

During her conversation with Martinez, DaniLeigh cleared the air about her tumultuous relationship with DaBaby, sharing details about their clash in November.

“Me and Baby had…been together for about like, three years on and off,” she told Martinez. “It was toxic. You know, we had our really good times.”

“It was very triggering, and very sad,” DaniLeigh said about the fight. “I wish it didn’t happen because I don’t want my baby to see that later on in life. But she’ll grow to be her own person and to be able to take things in.”

Hours after calling out DaniLeigh on Instagram, DaBaby dropped a pair of new songs in which he joins forces with Pooh Shiesty (“Bonnet”) and Moneybagg Yo (“WIG”), with the latter release arriving with a music video.

DaBaby’s response arrives just a few days after he was cleared of criminal charges for allegedly shooting a trespasser at his North Carolina home. The Iredell County District Attorney’s Office announced last week that its investigation into the April 13 incident had been “completed and closed,” adding, “there will be no criminal charges filed at this time.” He’s also been at the center of several alleged assaults in the near past.
