Fresh off the release of their latest collaboration “Hit Different,” Bronx rappers A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and B-Lovee return with their new single “Boom Boom.”
The new track catches B-Lovee on the heels of a breakthrough year that saw him drop his viral hit “My Everything.”
During a recent interview with DJBooth, B-Lovee spoke about the recent wave of sample-based beats in drill rap.
“Sample drill is sample drill,” he explained. “I’ve seen people saying that it’s been done before, but people have been rapping over samples forever. People been doing this, like remixing an old song. A drill 808 and bass just adds a different taste to it.”
B-Lovee added, “I think it’ll last a long time because so many people fall in love with a beat before they fall in love with the words. I gained a lotta older fans because of the samples, too, because I remixed their favorite song. It’s definitely timeless.”
