Rick Ross and The Breakfast Club host DJ Envy have been trading shots at each other for the past few weeks over their respective car shows. Rick Ross is set to host his second annual car show at his Promised Land estate in Fayetteville, Georgia on June 3, while The Breakfast Club host DJ Envy is hosting his own car show entitled Drive Your Dreams in Memphis, Tennessee on May 28.

As TMZ previously reported, the permit for Ross' June 3 show was initially rejected by authorities, but Ross said that it wouldn't stop him from making sure the event goes ahead as planned. Not long after that, the two started to fire more serious shots at each other across a string of appearances.

Below we take a look back at what has been said between Rick Ross and DJ Envy.

How did the beef start?

The situation began after comments Rozay made on an episode of Drink Champs. "Envy was never on my level," said Ross when asked if he was going back and forth with the host regarding the show. "I wouldn't do that to Envy, I rock with Envy. I fuck with Envy... But in the car game he not ready for that. I support his shit, and anybody go there got a lot of heart."

In response, Envy criticized Rozay, who at the time was struggling to get the required permits for his show.

In a segment on The Breakfast Club the following day (May 19), Envy ripped into Rick Ross by imitating his voice and questioning why he's rented out his home in Georgia on Airbnb and for movie productions.

"Ross, you Airbnb your home! The house that you sleep in!" Envy said. "Eddie Murphy slept in your bed. They shot Coming to America and Eddie Murphy man-milked your bed." He said that rappers such as Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and 50 Cent would "never" rent out their own homes like that. He also highlighted that his own show is much cheaper to gain access to at just $15.

"We do things for the community. I'm not that guy that's going to charge somebody $500 to get in because I couldn't sleep with myself," Envy said.

DJ Envy kept the beef going a week later when he dressed up as a police officer on The Breakfast Club in reference to Rick Ross' much-maligned past as a correctional officer. He made it abundantly clear what he was doing as he introduced himself as "Officer Ricky" during the episode.

“Ross went at me for what — 10 or 12 hours? I could tell he was rattled," Envy said about their continued shots at each other. “I could tell something was wrong, so I wore this today to make him feel more comfortable." He accused Ross of still getting a "pension from the corrections," name-dropping a Miami Correctional Facility Ross apparently worked for in Miami in the '90s.

“You started off as a football player. They kicked you off the team because you would stand by the showers and watch the boys take a shower,” he added. “Then you moved to corrections and what did you do? You watched the boys take a shower. ... You think I’m Big Meech? No, you’re Officer Ricky. I think I’m Larry Hoover? No, you’re Officer Ricky.”
