Earlier this year, 16-year-old Memphis rapper NLE Choppa caught a lot of attention for his bouncy, menacing track "Shotta Flow." Accompanied by a lively video that saw him and a number of his friends having a blast, the song quickly catapulted him to stardom. Now he's back to give the song a further push with a Blueface remix, and it's been given a Cole Bennett video treatment, too.

As with the original version, the hard-hitting but bare-bones beat has NLE Choppa flexing his talents. Meanwhile Blueface bolsters "Shotta Flow" with another idiosyncratic verse, full of absurd lines and that off-kilter flow. The video is just as much fun, with the two artists doing a lot of goofing off.

"Shotta Flow" kicked off a fierce bidding war when it arrived earlier this year, although NLE Choppa brushed most of the high-profile offers aside in favor of a deal with Steve Stoute's independent distribution company UnitedMasters. As Billboard reported back in February, the $3 million contract came without an advance and sees Choppa retain full ownership of his masters.

"I get to own all my music, so it's just a better deal [than a label]," the rapper explained. "I want to be able to have my own label, so I can build something from the ground up. In 10 years, I want to look back and think, 'I created something big.'"

Since its release at the start of the year, "Shotta Flow" has amassed over 70 million views. With the release of the Blueface remix, the 16-year-old's fame is surely set to further rise.

Unfortunately NLE Choppa's continued success hasn't come without confrontation, as Georgia rapper Quando Rondo said he attacked a member of Choppa's crew following an altercation at a club this month. As XXL notes, Choppa responded to the attack by calling Rondo a "bitch." In an Instagram Live stream, Choppa added that Rondo "can't come to Memphis" anymore.
