Mayer Hawthorne and producer Jake One first teamed up as duo Tuxedo back in 2015 with their self-titled album. In 2017 they delivered a sequel that further cemented their musical chemistry, and now they're back with Tuxedo III. Building on their airy funk-R&B sound with elements of G-funk, Tuxedo III proves there's plenty of road left for this collaboration to run.
The third album from the pair as Tuxedo features appearances from Leven Kali, Battlecat, MF DOOM, DaM-FunK, Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Parisalexa, Benny Sings, and Gavin Turek. The rotating cast of guests fit in perfectly, complementing both the smooth production and Hawthorne's songwriting.
Their first collaborative release not through Stones Throw, Tuxedo III is out now via the duo's own label Funk On Sight.
