Ahead of the release of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, Major Lazer and Khalid have teamed up for "Trigger" from the game's soundtrack. Mixing Major Lazer's arena-ready production with Khalid's forlorn vocals, "Trigger" offers an indication of the solemn mood Death Stranding strives for.

With some colorful production flourishes, "Trigger" pushes its futuristic synthpop into a club setting by the time the chorus hits. Just like the rest of the songs released from the soundtrack thus far, the song is both hopeful and decidely melancholy. Death Stranding: Timefall features original music inspired by and included in the PlayStation 4 game, which is Hideo Kojima's first since he exited Konami around the release of 2015's Metal Gear Solid V.

"Trigger" follows the previously released "Ghost" from Au/Ra x Alan Walker, "Yellow Box" by the Neighbourhood, and "Death Stranding" from CHVRCHES. The soundtrack will be available on Nov. 7 before the game drops on Nov. 8, and it will also feature contributions from the S.L.P., Bring Me the Horizon, Flora Cash, and MISSIO.

Earlier this week, Kojima stopped by Conan O'Brien to reveal that the show's host will make a cameo in Death Stranding

Conan O'Brien appears as a prepper “The Wondering MC” in DS. You get “Sea Otter Suit” when you get connected with him. With this suit, you’ll be able to swim easily in the river, you won’t be drifted away! BB would be happy as well. 👍🌈🦀☔️🐟🐋🐬💀👶✋🤩😍
