Ye has started work on the sequel to his 10th studio album Donda, and he and Jay Electronica are looking to work together again.

The ever-cryptic Jay, who released his long-awaited debut album A Written Testimony in 2020, shared with his social media followers a series of texts he exchanged with Kanye West. Electronica previously showed up on “Jesus Lord” on Donda, and their latest messages indicate he could turn up on its sequel, too.

“We working on music in LA and Miami,” Ye texted Jay Elec, as seen on the latter’s IG Stories.

“We got more music to make,” Jay replied.

Ye indicated it’s all systems go on his next album, writing, “Donda 2 starting now.”

Jay let him know he’s ready, saying, “Let me get my oven mitts and cooking spoon out.” He made sure to let Yeezy know he “punished that fucking ‘Eazy’ verse,” also sharing a screenshot of the texts via a tweet playing Ye’s verse in the background:

Donda 2 confirmed.

“I wanna put a verse on it. Lol,” Jay added.

While he didn’t confirm whether Jay Electronica will get to hop on a future version of his Game collab “Eazy,” it’s clear Ye is enthused by what the elusive rapper had to say, responding, “Let’s gooooooo.”

Jay isn’t the only artist to make it known they’re linking with Ye for Donda 2. Earlier this month, Moneybagg Yo shared a screenshot of messages with Ye on his IG Stories.

Kanye has yet to detail an expected release date for Donda 2.
