In a post shared on Instagram, Funkmaster Flex shared a photo of him alongside RZA and issued an apology to Wu-Tang Clan over their 25-year beef.

“I wanna take this time to apologize to the @RZA and the entire @WuTangClan,” he wrote in all caps alongside the photo. “Almost 25yrs ago the group, me and Hot 97 had a disagreement that to me never got put to bed and I apologize! Looking back at this 20 sumthin years later… we gonna make up for the time we missed… The world’s greatest rap group and the world’s greatest radio stations are going to come together bring u something amazing!”

Flex didn’t offer up many more details on what he’s been cooking up with RZA and the rest of the iconic hip-hop group, but he appeared to confirm that something was, in fact, on the way. “RZA + FUNKFLEX + WUTANG = ????,” he wrote. “CREATIVE PROGRAM DIRECTOR! FUNKFLEX.”

RZA echoed the sentiment in the comments with the open hands emoji, while Raekwon wrote, “Nothing but love blackman! And that’s reciprical !!!!!" Masta Killa also commented with a simple, “Peace.”

Wu-Tang and Funk Flex haven’t been able to see eye-to-eye since 1997, when Hot 97 issued an ultimatum to perform at Summer Jam or not receive airplay ever again. When they did perform at the festival, Ghostface Killah led a chant of “Fuck Hot 97.” While they made a return to the Summer Jam stage in 2013, this is the first time Flex and Wu-Tang have officially buried the hatchet.
