With Judge Genece Brinkley saying she is staying on Meek Mill’s case, Meek’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, has called called the judge "a little sad and delusional." He said he believes the Supreme Court indicated it wanted Brinkley off the case.
Brinkley is not planning to drop out, despite the Supreme Court's invitation for her to do so, according to TMZ. Her attorney, A. Charles Peruto, Jr., says Brinkley has no bias against the rapper and is confident she can deliver a fair trial.
Tacopina is hoping for the judge to dismiss the conviction, but Peruto told TMZ that may not come to fruition. The site writes Brinkley evidently "does not feel the Supreme Court in any way repudiated her rulings when it ordered that Meek go free without bail, pending the next hearing in June."
Rap and basketball fans took a victory lap Tuesday night as a fresh-out-of-prison Meek attended Game 5 of the Sixers-Heat series and rang the ceremonial bell. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered a lower court to grant him bail after months locked up.
