One of the most talked-about tracks from DaBaby's newly released third studio album was the collaborative joint with Megan Thee Stallion and Ashanti.

As it's title suggest, "NASTY" is unapologetically raunchy track in which DaBaby and Meg drop explicit, and very detailed, lyrics about their bedroom activities. But during a recent appearance on Sway's Universe, DaBaby said it was Ashanti who delivered the song's most memorable line—a line that gave him a feeling of affirmation.

"What's a line that Megan said in ['NASTY'] that threw you off," Sway asked during the phone interview. "That caught you off guard?"

"She said a few of them," DaBaby said. "But when Ashanti came and threw the 'threesome' line in there, I'm like, 'Lord.' I said, 'Lord, I'mma legend ... Can't nobody tell me shit.'"

The line DaBaby was referring to was featured in the bridge, when Ashanti sings: "He mesmerized, tattooed his mind, he won't forget/DaBaby tryna have a threesome with 'Shanti and Megan."

Sway then asked DaBaby if he and Ashanti "hung out" after the studio session.

"Nah, I ain't really had time. She had to catch a flight, I had to catch a flight," he said.

Sway wasn't buying it: "Uh huh. Alright, we'll talk off mic, man."

At the top of the interview, DaBaby spoke on his artistic evolution and giving listeners something more than just "turn-up" music.

"[Listeners] are in a different space right now. They're ready to receive different kinds of music ..." DaBaby said. "They don't want me to turn 'em up. They'll listen to more at this point ... It's my responsibility to give it to 'em ... force them to continue to evolve and grow with me. And that's what I'm on and what I'm all about."

DaBaby also touched on how he's handling his newfound fame and success, chosing the face-mask cover art for Blame It On Baby, using his music to speak his truth, and how he's been getting through the COVID-19 lockdowns. He said he's been spending time with loved-ones who showed up unannounced when the stay-at-home orders were put in place.

"They didn't ask, they just pulled up," DaBaby said with a laugh. "We big on that anyway ... We're real big on that. We'll cookout and make big dinners every day if we could ... We're [now] getting the opportunity to do so, and we've been taking advantage of it."

In another interview with Ebro Darden, DaBaby revealed he had initially sought out another artist to assist "NASTY."

"I reached out to Lizzo, she was busy on a world tour herself," he said. "I was on a deadline. I said get Ashanti for me, she got back to me the day after."

He went to say that he has plans to release another album later this year.

"You asking if I’m gonna drop another album? Damn right," DaBaby told Ebro. "I can’t not do that. I gotta put out more."

During a recent appearance on Big Boy's Quarantine Couch series, DaBaby touched on how the pandemic has impacted his income, as the nationwide lockdowns forced him to cancel live performances. The rapper told the host he estimates he'll lose millions of dollars if the stay-at-home orders continue until the summer.

"If it goes to July ... I've already missed millions for sure," he said. "I'll pull the calendar up right now and show you. I would've been on tour right now, and after that I would've did an overseas tour. So if we go to July, oh my God ... I'mma hold up how many millions I think."

He then held up five fingers, before someone off camera estimated $7 million.

"No bullshit," DaBaby said. "Tour alone, y'know."
