Mac Miller 'Circles'

Mac Miller's sixth and final studio album Circles has received a deluxe edition.

The late rapper's estate announced the release earlier this week, confirming the posthumous album would expand with two new songs: "Right" and "Floating." The original Circles arrived on Jan. 17, about 16 months after Miller died from an accidental drug overdose. The project was intended to be a companion album to his Grammy-nominated Swimming (2018); however, Miller was still in the recording process at the time of his death.

Composer/producer Jon Brion ultimately completed the album, at the request of Miller's family.

"When the family came to me, it was one of the most memorable days of my life, because a little bit of time had passed, but it was very, very, very fresh for parents who had lost a kid," Brion told Vulture back in January. "They asked me to see it through. I said I would."

The initial version of Circles spanned 12 tracks, including "Lead the World" and the lead single "Good News." The project debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was the most pre-added project in Apple Music history.

His family announced the project in early January with a heartfelt message on Instagram.

It read in part:

This is a complicated process that has no right answer. No clear path. We simply know that it was important to Malcolm for the world to hear it. One of the most difficult decisions in the process is how best to let people know about it, how to communicate meaningfully while keeping sacred what should be kept sacred. So this will be the only post on any of his channels. Information regarding this release, his charity, and Malcolm himself will be found at @92tilinfinity. Thank you to all the fans who've supported him unconditionally through the years. We miss him. We are left to imagine where Malcolm was going and to appreciate where he was. We hope you take the time to listen. The look on his face when everyone was listening said it all.

The Circles deluxe edition is available now exclusively on CD. The album will hit streaming services March 20 and will receive a vinyl release April 17.
