In a brief IG Story update overnight, Summer Walker seemed to tell fans that she will halt making music after this year comes to a close.

"lol I'm deadass never making another song after 2020," Walker said, adding no further context for the remark.

Naturally, fans and general commentators alike had a lot to say about Walker's comment, though it's not clear whether it was said in jest or in full-on earnestness:

Following the October release of her critically acclaimed debut album Over It, Summer Walker has continued gifting the planet with new sonic blessings in the form of the Birds of Prey: The Album cut "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby" and a remix of Justin Bieber's lead Changes single "Yummy."

As announced in January, she’s among the confirmed performers at this year's edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. The 2020 lineup also includes Big Sean, Charli XCX, DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert, and more.
