Social media skyrocketed Bhad Bhabie to stardom. Yet, the very thing that made her famous is now making her miserable.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, the 16-year-old said that she's going on a social media hiatus to protect her mental health.
"Due to my mental health I will b taking a small break from this app," she wrote. "I hate to say it but y'all won! Congrats mission complete! y'all made the lil 16 year old completely loose it! Social media has not only made me who I am but also every reason I can't sleep at night. Imagine being called a racist white cunt every second of they day."
People have accused been accusing Bhabie of appropriating black culture since she first started to gain popularity. This resurfaced last month when she was condemned for wearing braids. When she attempted to explain her stance on the topic, many people felt like her response was laced with underlying racism. This tug-of-war appears to have made Bhabie want to step away from Instagram.
"I show off a tattoo they say I’m tryna b black… I defend myself then boom I’m labeled a racist," she continued. "image being me for a second you just get a cute new wig and wanna show it off then the minute you post your mood is instantly killed bc your comment section if flooded with 'this slut wants to be black so bad' while wearing a straight blonde wig… this shit is really draining... Blows me how I watch people who can’t even tell me my favorite color try to tell me about myself."
It is unclear when Bhabie will be back from her social media hiatus, so this may be a final goodbye.
