6ix9ine might be in need of bodyguards now more than ever when he’s freed from prison, but his security reportedly won’t work for him anymore.

Several of his ex-bodyguards have left the rapper’s employment for different reasons, but the common justification is that no amount of payment would be worth protecting him, TMZ reports. According to the outlet's sources, former members of the rapper's security team feel like he needlessly endangered them before he went to prison, and now that he’s considered a snitch, they think it will just be worse.

Sources tell the outlet that the former bodyguards are mad about the “street politics” that they were made to deal with, which resulted from him being a “fake gangster.” There is still a good deal of bad blood between 6ix9ine and well-known gang members on both coasts, and for the bodyguards, the cost of doing business with a guy who has zero street credibility or integrity is a deal breaker.

Earlier this week, 6ix9ine asked to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under home confinement or in a community correctional facility. The rapper claims to be concerned for his safety and pointed to the Blood gang members who are housed with him who may try to harm him for his cooperation with authorities.

Last month, the rapper was sentenced to two years in prison and five years of supervised release. He’s made it clear he also doesn’t want to enter witness protection because he can pay for around-the-clock security. However, it looks like the pickings are slim.
